Overview
We handle all aspects of insurance and reinsurance disputes, claims and coverage work, including domestic litigation, international fast-track arbitrations and mediations. We have represented major insurers in coverage claims, reinsurance disputes, commercial disputes arising from the sale and purchase of insurance businesses, warranty and indemnity insurance, and liquidated damages.
We also handle multi-party losses, such as claims arising from fire, property construction, oil and gas, commercial and industrial operations, and transportation. We identify the major issues early, so that good cases are pursued successfully and weak cases are settled quickly.

The law that applies
Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025
Signed in August 2025, it repealed the Insurance Act 2003 and now governs insurance in Nigeria.
Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023
Applies where a policy refers disputes to arbitration.
